I had switched off the water and dismantled the top of the tap to find the cartridge body was badly cracked and could only be replaced. First looked on eBay and found several possible replacements but couldn't wait a month for delivery.
Checked out Screwfix and quickly found replacement part, at half the price of those on line, 4 available at nearest store and open on the Sunday. Collected, took 2 minutes to fit. Old lady happy, job done. Thank you Screwfix. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Dave from Replacement Bought as replacement for a dripping cartridge. Price was great. New one fitted in minutes with no drips so all good. Can't rate reliability as 5 star yet as it's only been fitted 2 days ago.
The cartridge performs well and is easy to fit. Excellent value for money. Log in or Sign up. Screwfix Community Forum. Hi Everyone, So I decided to fix a dripping tap and change the cartridges.. The trouble I had trying to take them out was nothing compared to what was next. Long story short the cold side tap handle has some components of the cartridge stuck in it, I have tried every method I could think of but it does not come out, along with the white piece as shown.
WD40 Vinegar Put a screw and tried pulling it Hammer Nothing has worked can anyone suggest what to do and also tell me the name of that white piece.. This tap has no brand name on it I really don't know what to do. I don't know what type handle you call these but I can't find them either. Any suggestions for new taps are welcome that can fit on granite.. Thanks in advance. HG10 , May 28, Check that there could be a tiny grub screw Allen screw in handle that needs slackened.
